A SPORTS injury therapist from Grappenhall is celebrating after being voted the Best Injury Clinic at the North West Enterprise Awards.
Tim Case, 37, set up Pain Solutions in Lymm 15 months ago and now has a team of four staff and patients include Warrington Wolves rugby stars and soul singer Alexander O’Neal.
It’s the first clinic in Warrington to offer Cryotherapy which can make injury recovery time up to four times faster by taking body temperature in the affected area down to minus 195 degrees.
As a personal trainer of 16 years, Tim encountered clients and athletes with injuries and wanted to help them heal, so in 2010 he trained in manipulation therapy and as an osteopath.
Then he learned of the innovative treatment which uses liquid nitrogen either in a chamber or via a hand held device to freeze injuries and trained as a therapist, even buying a huge bus to take the Cryochamber on tour!
Tim said: “My aim has always been to ensure my clients were pain free as quickly as possible and it seemed the perfect solution.
“Cryotherapy helps the body create new blood required for healing, and recovery from injury is up to four times faster.
“We use a hand held device on the injured area. The drop in temperature sends signals to the brain to place the body into survival mode, meaning blood is pumped away from the injury site to the vital organs.
“When the cold is removed, fresh, oxygenated blood returns to the affected area. The healing process begins and usually takes four treatments in total.”
Tim’s work was recognised at the North West Enterprise Awards which celebrate small and medium enterprises for their innovation, performance and client care.
He says it’s the result of months of hard work and dedication by the team at the clinic and is thrilled with the accolade.
Since opening he’s treated players from Warrington Wolves and Woolston Rovers, triple jumper Ben Williams who is taking part in next year’s Commonwealth Games, boxer Paul Economides and soul singer Alexander O’Neal.
Tim said: “It’s exciting to have recognition for the work we do and we’ve strived to raise awareness of the benefits of Cryotherapy.
“Our approach is different, treating not just the injury but the entire body. With the hand held Cryotherapy we treat every surrounding connected tissue.
“The Cryotherapy chamber provides an all over treatment with only the head remaining outside and helps with weight loss, stress, inflammation, arthritis, boosts collagen and smooths skin.
“We are the only clinic in the region offering the two different types of Cryotherapy, and myself and my team are trained osteopaths and manipulation therapists.
“Whether we are working with an elite athlete or a grandfather who simply wants to be more mobile so he can play with his grandchildren, helping people get better is the most important thing.”
