Based in the North East of England, you can see my work anywhere from Buzzfeed to the Warrington Guardian, the Independent to the Mail on Sunday.
I started as a newspaper journalist back in the 90s and I have contacts in the national press who employ me to find case studies and interview people for all kinds of stories.
My work is varied, but mostly I write about animals and the pet industry and I work with small businesses helping them with content and raising awareness of the work they do.
Writing human interest stories about ordinary people and their pets doing extraordinary things is what I enjoy the most, and my recent stories include Jeff the Tortoise who has more than 15 outfits, Buddy and Becky’s mission to find the UK’s most dog friendly place and the famous dogs of Instagram..
I have a pet blog, www.thepawpost.co.uk, one of media expert Vuelio’s Top 10 Pet Blogs in 2017 and 2018.
Having worked as a media consultant for many pet focused start ups, I now focus on working with pet brands and entrepreneurs.
You can find lots of free advice on my new site, www.publicityforpetbusinesses.co.uk and in my Facebook group at www.facebook.com/groups/publicitytipsforpetbusinesses/
Whether you need help writing content for your pet business, or raising your profile in local, regional or national media, I have a range of packages you can choose from to suit all budgets.
This year I launched my first online course, Blogging and Content for Pet Businesses which shares everything dog walkers, groomers, trainers, photographers and people making products for pets need to know about writing for their website.
