Are you taking part in Dry January? Expert advice on surviving the month.

January 2, 2019 By Rachel Spencer Leave a Comment

Are you one of the 4.2 million people in the UK who are taking part in Dry January?

After the excess of Christmas and New Year celebrations, it’s estimated that one in ten adults will have a booze free month.

Going for a month without alcohol might sound like a challenge but there is a lot of help at hand.

Alcohol Change UK has the Dry Jan app that you can download on your phone and check how many calories and pounds you save by steering clear of your favourite tipple.

And Club Soda, a support group for men and women hoping to either stop drinking or moderate their consumption has lots of resources to help too.

I wrote about Dry January for the Sunday Mirror at the weekend, and spoke to Alison Benson about how giving up for one month led her to stop drinking for a year.

I also interviewed LaurenĀ Booker, author of Try Dry, The Official Guide to a month off booze, on her tips.
