Dog rescue worker Liz Haslam spent £2,000 and travelled 5,000 miles to rescue an injured dog from a refugee camp.
The dog, named Eric, was found confused and disorientated running around the camp in Turkey and Liz was compelled to help after learning of his plight on Facebook.
She runs Beds For Bullies, a centre that cares for bull breeds, particularly English Bull Terriers, in Barnham, Norfolk but has rescued animals from all over the world.
Eric had been shot in the head and has needed extensive treatment and Liz is now hoping other animal lovers will help her raise money to pay for his care.
Her story appeared in the Sunday People.
