Imagine not having to fork out a penny for Christmas?
That’s a reality for Mel Brolly who came forward to tell her story about being a comper – meaning she enters up to 300 competitions a DAY!
Her story of how she managed to WIN nearly £8,000 of gifts appeared in The Sun.
A MUM-of-four has told how she makes her own Christmas wishes come true – simply by imagining she already had the presents she wants.
Mel Brolly is her own Fairy Godmother and already has nearly £5000 worth of presents wrapped up under her tree and she hasn’t paid a penny for them.
Instead she uses a technique championed in Rhonda Byrne’s book The Secret, called the law of attraction where she visualises what she would like to receive.
She channels that vision to the universe and compels it to deliver her dreams.
Mel, 40, who lives in St Ives, Cornwall, said: “People may think it’s wacky but it is all about positive thinking.
“My husband Michael really wanted an Apple Watch last year. At nearly £500 there was no way I could afford it.
“Every day I would enter competitions to win one instead. I had the watch there in my mind’s eye, and I just knew I was going to win it.
“Despite 2,000 others entering the same competition that I did on Facebook, it was me who won.
“It’s a little bit like meditation. You push away negative thoughts, visualise what you want but more than that, feel it.
“I really wanted to win. I convinced myself to feel what it was like to have it, all the excitement of winning it, giving it to my husband and seeing the look of elation on his face.
“It actually helps me to get to sleep at night too. When it’s quiet and I just have my thoughts. And thoughts become things.’
Mel has been entering competitions for the last three years since ill health meant she had to give up her job as a carer.
She has Alpha-1, a genetic lung condition which means even the slightest infection makes her extremely poorly and breathless and could need a transplant in future.
However since she began comping, she wins an average of 15 prizes a month worth between £800 to £1500, which completely dwarves her old salary of £400 a month.
And she starts building up her Christmas presents for her children Nikki, 16, Daniel, 13, Violet, fiver and Lulu, four, in June.
Last weekend Mel and her husband spent the weekend watching the Grand Prix at Williams HQ after winning a prize on Facebook.
She’s also won a Yoga retreat in Italy, a three night stay at a luxury family hotel in Dorset for the whole family, tickets to the X Factor final, three iPads, a £500 knife block, dining table and chairs, a bed, a fridge freezer, £600 wireless speakers and an exercise bike.
Among the stranger things she’s picked up are a bottle of water and a fish slice – and a butler for the day!
