As a crazy dog lady and pet journalist I work with editors on national newspapers on campaigns involving animals.
The Sun on Sunday commissioned me to work on their new The Pet Vet column which sets out to tackle the rise in pet obesity.
A worrying 59 per cent of dogs and 39 per cent of cats in the UK are overweight and like us, our pets are getting bigger.
The obesity epidemic means pets suffer other illnesses related to their weight including arthritis, breathing difficulties, diabetes, urinary problems, poor quality of life and a shorter lifespan.
I arranged for Sean McCormack, head vet at tails.com to provide comment and support to owners who are looking to help their pet lose weight.
The story appeared in the Sun on Sunday and you can read the full story here Meet the Pet Vet – Sean McCormack vows to help dogs and cats fight flab and get healthy.
